lumpectomy

I am scheduled for a lumpectomy next week.  There was an area of calcification in the 2 o'clock that was also biopsied and proved to be benign.  The cancerous lump is in the 6 o'clock position.  I feel more at peace with the benign calcification, being that area would be closer to the lymph nodes.  Can I rightfully assume that there probably won't be any lymph node involvement as the cancerous lump is at 6 o'clock?

Not necesarily, if there is node sampling I would guess that it will be the Sentinel Node which will be identified before surgery. Where that node is would be anyone's guess. Cancer involved the nodes through the lymphatic system so location of the tumor really has nothing to do with it. Take care now and keep us posted after your surgery.   Kindest regards ....
