my niece fund a lump in  her arm pit about two weeks ago. She had the lump taken out the other day.  They won't know if its cancerous for about two weeks. She's only 16. what else could it be besides cancer? What is the bad cancer called?

Dear Nikki, I know it is frightening and nerve racking to await the results of testing, our imaginations take us from the worst case scenarios to everything is OK.  There are many causes of lumps, and having it removed and examined is the only way to know for certain what it is so it can then be dealt with.

There are many features to cancers that make them “good” or “bad”. These features need to be looked at in combination with other findings. This combination of information then gives the physician the information needed in order to recommend appropriate therapy.

I hope all turns out well for your niece.
