lymph node and swollen breast

a friend woke up one day with an larged breast about 4 sizes larger than normal red and the skin very tight, and very painful  she had slight pain under her arm then the next day the above descibed condition.  Bacteria was checked but only one colony of cells grew.  the dr made an incision and took out more pus to test. he called it cellutis what is your opinion?  how should it be treated could it be cancer

Dear kph:  If, in fact, this is cellulitis, then antibiotics would be appropriate.  To be certain that this is not inflammatory breast cancer, she should discuss the possibility of biopsy with her doctor.
