What exactly is a lymphoma?  When having the ultrasound, there was also a smaller lump behind it.  I am to have a lumpectomy.

Dear marjay:  A lymphoma is a malignancy affecting any part of the lymphatic system.  It can occur anywhere in the body, although it is not common in the breast.  An ultrasound may pick up a lump but only a biopsy can determine if this is a lymphoma or something else.
