mammogram report

I am 63 yr old female.   this is the first time that I have been called back on my yearly mammogram.  They say they see a nodular density on the left breast.  What does that mean in layman's terms?

It means that an area of concern was found in the left breast that appears as a nodule (a small rounded mass or lump) which is more dense that the surrounding tissue. I suppose some recommendation was made at the end of the report such as a closer than usual re-check OR perhaps even a biopsy. Whatever was suggested, please follow the recommendation. Regards..
