mammogram

I was called back to have other tests after my first mammogram.An ultrasound plus another mammogram what does it mean?

It could mean they see something suspicious and need more tests or perhaps they can't see the mammogram correctly and want to check it out more....if they see something changed from previous mam they may want to do ultra sound to see if it is a cyst or something that needs more consideration.

Hello,

I just had to go back to have another mammogram taken on 8/11/08.  The tech showed me why I had to come back because they saw a something (spot, nodule,lump?) on my right breast.  Next, the radiologist had to look at the new mammogram to determine if I had to do an ultra-sound.  So I had to wait in the waiting room to see what would happen next.  She called me in again to tell me I had to do the ultra-sound.  After she completed the ultra-sound, she took the ultra-sound pictures to the radiologist so she could determine what the "spot" was.  Of course, I was stressing to the max.  The tech came back into room and said that everything was fine that it was just a cyst.  I said that's it, I can go now and live my life without the stress of thinking that I might have breast cancer.  So my suggestion is try not to worry until you absolute have to.  I know it's hard, because  I thought that I would lose my mind during the 4 days I had to wait to come back to re-do my mammogram.  Good luck and take it easy.

I am so happy for you and your wonderful news! Thats wonderful.
I had my biopsy today....I am hurting a bit right now (I should be resting) but I was bored....hopefully I will get good news before the end of this week.
