masectomy for DCIS

I had done a masectomy with a silicon implant 3 weeks ago. now i feel a small lump which i feel is bit extended over the area, I am confused if it is the fibroid forming over the implant or another lump... could some one tell me if you feel such fibroid forming after a implantation...

Hi there.

If you just had your implant 3 weeks ago, then all of these breast changes may still just be part of the normal healing process of the surgical area.  This could represent a local tissue reaction from the injuries from surgery or from the silicone implants themselves.  Other causes would include distinct disease entities such as fibrocystic disease or fibroadenoma.

I would suggest that you have this seen by your doctor and be advised if this would just need observation or pursue further tests such as that of ultrasound or MRI.
