I had a sterotactic breast biopsy done at a San Jose radiology center.
The procedure was hard. I wish I had taken anti-anxiety med.  My advice to anyone
getting one: bring socks, wear soft pants, have blanket & pillow for car ride home. I was
shaking for an hour afterward-could not talk to my husband.

My question is: I had 6 clusters of microcalcifications forming in a line. I would
like to know what are the possible outcomes? DCIS if early, does it require
lumpectomy and radiation both? DO you have to take Tamoxifin (tamoxifen)? Which BReast
Center is better UCSF or Stanford? How do I find a good dr/surgeon? I hope
it is B9!!! I HOPE -But I want to be prepared to ask questions and get on with it!

I have 3 kids, and I do not know how I can spend 3 months laid up after surg??

With them doing a sterotactic, it seems it would be early, if it is cancer. If it is, because of your young age, you would probably need more than surgery.
3 months would be longer than normal to be laid up after surgery. I had an axillary clearnce and was back to work in 2 weeks on full duty. Lumpectomy is usually an out patient proceedure. Hopefully your kids are old enough to take there own shower and stuff. My 16 year old was very helpful through chemo and stuff. Kids really do help when they know they should. Hopefully your husband will also pitch in. A lot of people will offer to help, let them prepare meals for the freezer and babysit while husband is at work.

Radiation is easier than surgery. Chemo was the hardest to recover from.

Tamoxifin (tamoxifen) is for er postive cancer. The path report, if you have to have more surgery, will provide that information.

If you do have cancer, it is a doable course of treatment, even with kids.

Breast calcification,when seen in a suspicious pattern are always biopsied to make sure that there isn't an underlying problem.
By having a biopsy does not indicate that a malignancy will be found.Very often it's quite the opposite and many clustered calcifications are found to be benign in nature.
Please don't worry by thinking of the worst case scenario..Things could turn up just fine and I hope it will be so.
Waiting for the results is not pleasant at all, but when you'll get the results,your doctor will tell you what treatment will be best for your particular case,IF any treatment will be needed.Each case is different and only your doctor can provide you with the best advice.
