muscle pain after lumpectomy

muscle pain after lumpectomy

6 months after a lumotectomy, my breast and back are very sore after harder-than-usual kitchen work. Will this go away? Is it only a muscle strain?

hi there.

from this description, this may very well just be muscle strain due to stress.  At this point, it is very hard to tell if this was related before to your operation, or this is a separate condition altogether.

If you had radiation therapy after the mastectomy, then it is possible that this pain may be related still from some form of residual soft tissue injury from the radiation.

It is important that you continue with the regular clinical breast examination to make sure there are no other problems.  I believe this muscle strain can be relieved with adequate rest and standard pain medications.

Regards.
