Hi,

'Architectural distortions' is disruption of the normal arrangement of the tissue strands of the breast resulting in a radiating or haphazard pattern.

Although it is could be a sign of malignancy, especially lobular invasive carcinoma, architectural distortion may also result from benign disease, e.g. radial scar or following surgery.

Do you have any history of surgery in the past to the breast?

Discuss with your radiologist and physician the possible options they keeping and what would be the further plan to reach a confirmed diagnosis.

You should relax and go head with the investigations requested.  A biopsy would help to give a confirmed diagnosis.

Architectural distortion can be seen in case of cancer, a surgical scar, fibrocystic change, and in some cases, the superimposition of breast tissues. An architectural distortion should be further evaluated, and, biopsy is the recommended for a confirmed diagnosis.

Do let us know if you have any more doubts. Let us know about how you are doing and how the biopsy procedure goes.

Regards.
