needle biopsy

Hello, I'm back with a question  I should have asked my doctor, I had a needle biopsy on my complex cyst, I haven't received the results yet and the lump is still there, should i mention it to my doctor or just wait? Or did he biopsy the wrong lump. I did have multiple cyst. on both my breast but the lump that was the biggest I think she missed. What to do?
Oh and the sit of the biopsy is swollen and itchy.

Hi,
If you just had a needle biopsy,I would think that the complex cyst must still be there. An excision biopsy would have removed the entire sac filled with fluid and debris
The fluid obtained from the needle biopsy will be examined and if need be the cyst will be removed. I presume that the needle biopsy was done under Ultrasound guidance, and I don't see how the radiologist would have missed to biopsy the lump in question. FYI ,the majority of complex cysts turn out to be benign.
By all means you can call your doctor asking him/her about what you are asking here. The more information you get,the better. It's normal to have some swelling after a biopsy. If the swelling gets worse ,see your doctor to make sure that the site of the biopsy is not infected..
Best wishes.

A needle biopsy would not necessarily change the size or shape of the lump. A complex cyst can contain both liquid and solid material .... unlike a simple cyst that is only filled with fluid and may be drained with a needle. There would likely be some swelling in the area of the biopsy but by all means if you are concerned, ck. with your PHysician.    Take care .....
