nerve damage from surgeries

I had 13 unsuccessful reconstruction surgeries which left me with nerve damage in my chest -- a constant, stabbing, crawling feeling.  Can this be eliminated?

Dear lynnd218:  Depending on the type of damage there is, it is difficult to guess at whether there is any surgical procedure that could address this damage.  In general nerves do not regenerate.  There are some medications that could possibly address your discomfort.  You might ask your doctor about whether trying some medications like tegretol or elavil would be helpful.  These can sometimes help nerve pain.  Also, some hospitals have pain management departments that may be able to offer some helpful suggestions.
