nipple different

Hello, I have very recently noticed that one nipple has like a white tip. It is different to the other. It isn't a growth or infection. Its almost like the end just isn't pink any more! I am 51. Its not sure or tender and I can't feel any lump. Can't really see anything that describes it on google search! Don't want to waste money going to doctor. Thanks.

Well first let me say that it's NEVER a waste of money to go to a Doctor when you suspect that something is not right !  It would seem that there isn't quite the normal blood flow to the tip of that nipple OR this may be a tiny bit of discharge that has hardened at the tip. In the absence of any other symptoms I doubt that this would be anything terribly serious but it's up to you if you want to continue not knowing or see your Doctor for an exam. You should be seeing your Physician at least once a year anyway for a breast exam and I would think that you are having a yearly Mammogram as well. You might ask the Technician when you have your next Mammogram ..  Regards ....
