nipple pain

these past couple of days my 16yrs old daughter has been complaining about her right breast hurting. also her right nipple sometimes gets smaller than the other but returns to normal after awhile. she said she is also feeling a burning sensation in her nipple. i figured it might be because she had a lot of caffeine these past weeks and she has not had her period yet. should i be worried

For the past few day my left breast hurts in some spots.  If usually starts the day of my period, but my period has not started.  For the past year my period does not come every month it skips around so i never know when it is going to come.  My ob-gyn told me as long as I have 4 periods a year it is ok.  Should I worry.

i went to the doctors today for my check up and said the same thing to my doctor and they said it is normal. but what i forgot to to ask her is that after my daugther takes a shower her breast become dry and she said her right nipple probably is burning 5 out of 10. is it also normal for just one nipple to burn because ive never had that when i was younger. her armpit also burns at times

Dear andrea123:  It is not uncommon for young women to experience occasional breast discomfort, particularly in the week or so preceding the menstrual cycle.  Caffeine may or may not contribute to this.  Without examination, we cannot speculate on the cause of her discomfort.  If you (and she) remain concerned, she should have it checked out by a physician.
