nipple rash

by K_E_S, Nov 15, 2008 04:15AM
I am 18 years old and in the past two weeks I have developed a rash on my left nipple.  It is dry, flaky, and it itches alot, even more so if I scratch it.  It is also somewhat hard  The area where the rash is is a darker color then the rest of the areola.  I thought that it was dry skin, cause i do have pretty dry skin all over my body, but I have been putting lotion on for the past few days and it still wont go away.  It actually seems like it is getting worse and it is starting to develop on my right nipple as well.  There is no history of any kind of cancer in my family that I am aware of.  The only reason that I am asking is when I looked up information about it, the women that had were 30 and above or they were pregnant, breastfeeding, or were going/gone through menopause.  I am most certainly not pregnant, and haven't had any increase/decrease in hormone levels, at least that I am aware of.  So can anyone tell me what I should do or what they think it might be?  Thanks.
