nodular density in breast

In 2001 I was having pain in my right breast my OB/GYN sent me for a mammo which revealed I had something going on in there but what was thought to probably to be a cyst turned out on the ultrasound to be a tumor...went on to get a biopsy and they said it was a benign tumor and to come back in a year to keep a check on it.....well I did and for 7 years mammos didnt show anything actually they claimed they didnt see anything on my mammo last year....and told me i did not need to be seen every year for one that I could wait until I was 40 and get an other one....well I starting having pain in my left went to have a mammo last month and my left is clear no problem but the radioligist sent my doctor a letter saying there was nodular density in my right breast that wasnt shown in previous films from years past....it also states there is no suspicious cluster of microcalification, nipple retraction or skin thickening...what does this mean for me?

Well, obviously something new was seen on your recent mammogram. They always compare with the films from the past which was noted. I would think that you may be asked to have an Ultrasound to further clarify this new finding. A biopsy of some sort may also be recommended. This may be something similar to what was found several years ago .... breast cancer is rarely associated with breast pain. Be sure you follow this to a definite conclusion. Regards ....
