I AM A BREAST CANCER PATIENT DIAGNOSED MARCH 2008. HAD A LUMPECTUMY. FOLLOWED UP WITH CHEMO AND RADIATION. WENT I FOR MY MONTH MAMMO, ULTRASOUND AND NOW THEY WANT ME TO BE TESTED EVERY 3 MONTH FOR FIBROGLANDULAR DISEAES. WHAT IS FIBROGLANDULAR DISEASE?

Fibroglandular or Fibrocystic Breast Disease is a benign condition where lumps(fibroadenomas) of cysts form within the breast tissue. At times these cysts or lumps appear in relation to hormonal changes within the body. They can be rather painful especially realated to the menstrual cycle. If they are particularly bothersome they can be removed surgically. Regards....
