only "weakly" positive for estrogen

only "weakly" positive for estrogen

My path report states that my estrogen receptors are only "weakly" positive.  No percentage numbers were given.  What does this mean, and what are the implications for hormone therapy?

Hi,
Estrogen and progesterone receptor positivity is determined based on the number of cells that have these receptors  There is some evidence that women with tumors that are positive, even if it is only"weakly", may benefit from the addition of hormone therapy.
Your oncologist would be the best source of information regarding this therapy.
Best wishes..
