Thanks very much for your answer.I'm hoping to get rid of most of my pain before I go back to work in two weeks.I work in a hospital and am right handed so I'm hopeful that the pain isn't going to be bad. I start radiation in one month and sure don't want any more comclications

I had 19 nodes removed with a mastectomy just under a year ago and experienced the type of pain you describe.    Zouzi has good advice.  Time definitely improves this pain and numbness.  You will most likely always have some loss of feeling in certain areas.  I gently exercised my arm up and fully extended to get my range of motion back.  A physical therapist could help you with exercises to help and many ladies have found relief with massages.

Through all my treatments, I keep in close contact with my doctors and nurses.  They know lots of ways to cope and find relief.  If you find something that works well, be sure to let them know.  They can pass on your good advice.

It has been two weeks since your surgery.  Did you also have a biopsy, lumpectomy or mastectomy?  Where and how much incision and what was removed all affects how it feels as it heals.  Make sure that you check with your surgeon as see what he says about exercises.  That is what helped me most with my mastectomy/lymph node removal.  I am thinking of you.

Hi,
I also had pain when two of my lymph nodes were removed. It's very normal to feel the pain you are describing because nerves are damaged during surgery and these take quite sometime to heal.
I was advised by my Surgeon to apply warm compresses and gently massage the area.(If the incision site is completely healed)
Your condition should improve with time, but if the pain worsen or the area of the incision becomes red and swollen,I would advise you to have your Surgeon examine you to make sure that there isn't an infection.
Hope that you'll feel better soon.
Best wishes...
