pet scan results? how reliable?

my  husband had a pet scan done and they found a couple spots on his chest any ideas on what it could be? he has lymphedema,

PET scans do have some false positives and are very sensitive. It would depend on the reason your husband had the PET scan in the first place. You mention Lymhedema but not why he has LE .... he must have had some type of previous surgery than involved the removal of some lymph nodes and this is usually done due to a cancer diagnosis. This forum deals strictly with issues of Breast Cancer .. was this the cause of his previous surgery ?? It's impossible to speculate as to what the findings might indicate ... there must be more information concerning the test, cause, etc. Regards..

thanks for the info. he was diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma in 1996. went for a check up then instead of a ct scan they used a pet scan.
