I don't know how serious your cancer was and what markers you had, mine was Stage III, ER+ and I was told not to try pregnancy again... HOWEVER, some women can and do.  So, if the doc gives you the all clear after the Tamoxifen is complete...then go forth!

Be at peace with the 35 thing...I was 35 with my first child, and 37 with my second.

You really need to discuss this with your onc and your OB.  The cancer more than your age will be a factor in any future pregnancies.  And you may need an RE at that point depending on what effects the Tamoxifen had on your system.

Good luck to you!

Dear shaynlbc, It is generally recommended that pregnancy be delayed 2 to 3 years after adjuvant treatment for breast cancer is completed.  The delay is not because of the influence of the pregnancy on the cancer, but rather to delay childbearing until after the time of greatest risk of recurrence of the tumor.  You should not attempt to get pregnant while on tamoxifen because of unknown risks to the fetus, as well as ability to sustain a pregnancy while on tamoxifen.  The decision about discontinuation of tamoxifen in order to attempt pregnancy should be done with input from your oncologist who can discuss with you the risks etc. for your particular situation.
