primary lymphedema

I have primary lymphedema, I would like any information
concerning this condition. What exactly is the best treatment
for primary lymphedema and what are my chances of getting
lymphedema of my other extremities?  I have had this for
approximately 12 years and had only one infection recently
which has woke me up.

This is a Breast Cancer Forum, the lymphedema problem we generally see in persons treated for breast cancer is termed secondary lymphedema.  Primary lymphedema is rare and is caused by the absence of certain lymph vessels at birth, or it may be caused by abnormalities in the lymphatic vessels.  For more information on
