prophylactic mastectomy after implant rupture

I had sub-pectoral silicone implants 20 years ago - I am now 57 years old.  Last year my annual mammo necessitated a stereotactic biopsy on right breast.  Excision was done and diagnosed as ADH.  6 months later, mammo all clear.  6 more months, and 4 spots on same breast were found.  Had ultrasound and MRI where it was determined my implants had ruptured but were contained intracapsularly.  Another excision revealed ADH, ALH, and FEA.  NO risk factors for breast cancer - had first child at 19, breast-fed (but not long), no family history.  Now Drs want to remove my implants but won't consider a complete mastectomy because there is no proven cancer.  If there is not a risk, why are they cutting me up? and if I have to have implants removed, wouldn't it be better to remove all tissue anyway instead of going thru hell every six months?

ADH certainly does increase your risk of developing breast cancer .... about twice that of normal. I think a second opinion would be very valuable in your situation. It might help to clear up any concerns you are having since you don't seem to be amenable to the current recommendations.  Regards...
