radiology report

8/01 - mammogram showed microcalcifications

8/02 - mammogram showed asymmetrical density of right breast

9/02 - spot compression xray radiology report:
The asymmmetrical density noted in the upper outer view of right breast is much less impressive on the mediolateral view.  The density persists on the cc view.  Since the abnormality cannot be demonstrated in 2 views, 6 month followup is recommended.

I do not feel a lump, but since the asymmetrical density still shows on the cc xray, should I wait 6 months or demand a biopsy or other diagnostic treatment now?

Thank you very much.

Dear vanden:  To some extent, this is up to your comfort level.  If you are going to be worried, then ask to have this further evaluated now.  Very often, "lumps" on mammogram can be benign but the only way to know for sure is to get a biopsy.
