rash and itchiness on right breast and nipple

Can you please explain why my right breast has a rash and is very itchy.   I also feel a small lump about 2 inches from the rash.

Dear lbbc4:  Without examination, it is impossible for us to speculate on what this might be.  The skin on the breast is like skin anywhere else on the body and is subject to a variety of abnormalities.  The general rule of thumb with a new lump is that it needs to be evaluated.  Our recommendation is that you see your doctor for evaluation so that “next steps” can be determined.
