rash or bites on breast

I am a 53 year old helathy, post menopausal woman. this past Sat. I woke up with what appeared to be three little bites on my breast by my areola, at "4:00." They look like three scab like bites with a red ring arund them...a white scab in the middle surrounded by red.The whole area effected is about the size of a quarter. My breast is not painful or swollen, and the "bites" don't particularly itch. (I don't scratch them.) A day later a faint red streak, about an inch long, at 1:00 on my breast appeared from the aerola. Anyway these bites really have me worried, what are they and what can I do to get rid of them. there has been no change in them in 4 days and I guess I thougth if they were indeed bites, they would have gone away by now. Could this be Breast Cancer, like Paget's Disease or Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Hope not. Thank you for your help.

Some of what you described sound like hallmark signs of IBC, Inflamm. Breast Cancer.  I would see a dr. asap.

Last Thursday I found a reddish spot around 3 o'clock on my left breast... about two finger widths from the center of my nipple.  At first I thought this was a bite of some sort; however, it doesn't burn nor itch.  The skin is flaky only after I dry from taking a shower.   It's cherry red with a cream milky center, not oozing or bleeding.  I felt yesterday a small lump forming underneath this spot.   I'm in my late 40s and yes heading into the "change".   Do I have any thing here to be concerned about?

Thank you for taking time to read this and answer back.

Dear lucy5:  The skin on the breast is like skin anywhere else and is subject to many abnormalities.  These could be bites or pimples or some other rash.  Sometimes bites can take a little time to heal.  However, if this appears to get worse or does not improve, you should have it checked out by your doctor.
