Hello i have found a lump in my breast so i went to see gp and was refered for a scan but the lump has grew whilst waiting for the appoitment so i decided to go private and have just returned home from tests, i had a ultra sound and then a procedure which was a needle inserting into the lump and it being drained and then the testing of the drained stuff from the lump.

The specialist has said there is something that requires further testing he was unable to give me the all clear he has asked me to go along again to his clinic and have a tissue sample taken is this normal?

Dear amychaz:  From what you describe, it sounds as though you may have had a cyst aspirated.  In general, a true cyst (fluid filled structure) will go away after aspiration.  Perhaps, after the cyst was aspirated, something remained on the ultrasound that should be investigated.  Of course this is speculation.  You should discuss this with your doctor.
