results from stereotactic biopsy

I had a stereotactic biopsy on Tuesday. The doctor said there is no cancer in the cells they took, however, the surrounding cells are atypical hyperplasia. I am 45, no family history of breast cancer. They want to do another biopsy, this time in the hospital (outpatient). What's happening to me?

Dear deniser:  I think that the doctor is concerned that the sample is not adequate to feel confident that there is no cancer.  The doctor is recommending an exisional biopsy (remove the lump).  That way, you're not left wondering if there were cancerous cells next to the ones that got sampled.  If this is negative, there will be no additional procedures needed other than mammography to continue your regular screening.

I was also just recently diagnosed with atypical; lobular hyperplasia - Lobular Carcinoma In Situ. They did a core biopsy
on the lobule. He said that he believed that the lobule was erradicted during the biopsy. They have not gone in to do an excisional biopsy to see if th cells are gone. I go in to have another ultrasound in February. I have 3 other lumps that were not checked. I am somewhat concerned. Since the biopsy which was 10 days ago I have had a low grade fever and just have been feeling kind of like I have the flu. I talked to the DR. he didn't seem to concerned about it and aid I should make an appointment with my primary for a complete physical. I also have a lump near kidney area and above knee cap.
