retracted nipple

retracted nipple

I had a lumpectomy about a year ago along with chemo and radiation.  My nipple has been retracted since surgery.  Will it eventually come out on its on?  So far it has not.  Is there anything I can do?  I have considered using my daughter's breast pump to see if that would help.  What do you suggest?  I see my doctor every 3 months and he says it could come back out over time.  I was too embarrased to ask him about using a breast pump.

Carol, i think that is a great idea about trying to pull out your nipple with your daughter's breast pump. can't think of any better. it may or may not come out, and maybe just temporarily. I think it's worth a try.

You are still scarring one year after surgery, I believe, and the problem could become worse than better; or better. none of us knows?

Anyway, please letr us know what happens. Best, KAT
