rib lump

by rose41, Sep 12, 2003 12:00AM
I have a lump about 2 cm in diameter on the rib right below my right breast.  It feels hard and bony.  Is this anything to be concerned about?  (I know this isn't directly in the breast, but we have a very strong history of breast cancer in our family, so lumps in that area make me nervous)
Thanks

Dear rose41:  I suspect that you are feeling normal anatomy.  If you are concerned, have your doctor examine.

there's really no way to assess any lump except by direct exam. A new lump should be evaluated by your doctor.
