right breast pain

Since sunday my right boob has been sore. Now and then I get sharp cramps in my upper boob to the right. I went to the doctors today for a check up and he confirmed that my right boob feels much larger then my left and he said there is fullness on the outer upper quadrants of my right then requested I get an ultrasound done to look for lumps.

I asked if it could just be a blocked duct as I only had my son 3 months ago but he said thats highly unlikey as I stopped breast feeding about 2 months ago. I called up the ultrasound place to make an appointment but thats not until next tuesday.

I know I should wait until my appointment and should stop freaking out but i was wondering if anybody could put my mind at ease as to what it could be....or has been through a similar experience. I am only 21 years of age and yes I do smoke.

Any help appreciated.

I know it doesnt help to get these responses, however I know I would want to know too, so I will tell you my story. My breast was much bigger than the other and I turned out having something in the duct, they thought it was maybe cancer but it turned out not to be after I had lumpectomy.  I think its very likely your duct can have something blocking in there, but you can't tell without US or other tests.  Is it leaking at all any fluid?  Just wait and see....Im sure you will be ok honey........its a real bummer waiting for this stuff....keep me posted please...Madge
