scar tissue

Hi I had a breast  reduction about 4 years ago . all around where i was cut i have what i think is bad scar tissue and at times is very painful but i have resently started haveing pain under my armpit in my right arm. My question is there anything they can do for painful scar tissue its so bad i cant wait a bra at all . i have had a mamma gram done last year the breasts were cleared but my pain isnt in the breast its around the incision . i can feel the lumps there

Hi,
In some cases a painful and non healing scar tissue is re excised. You would have to discuss this possiblity with your surgeon. Also it would be advisable to get a repeat mammogram done annually. and consult with your physician once every six months. What you could do is try some OTC pain killers and apply some soothing lotion and some moisturising cream over the site. See if that helps. Also ask your physician if he thinks acourse of antibiotics is required. Some hot fomentation should also be helpful. goodluck.
