Thank you so much for your words of encouragement!! I am confident things will be fine, just by my appointment with the surgeon, he said my lump had none of the characteristics of what they look for...but they are still insisting on a biopsy just to "close the book". So that combined with the lack of urgency on their part for the biopsy has me breathing a sigh of relief!!

I had a birad 4 mammogram in both breasts last summer. I had both spots biopsied and both came back negative. Good luck on your biopsy.
I should also mention that my "birad" was 4, "highly suspicious.
Dear bethme, You are doing the correct thing by having this further evaluated. Some mammogram findings or physical exam findings can be more or less suspicious, however, it is impossible to say for sure without tissue biopsy that this is benign (non-cancerous).
It is not uncommon for women to have one breast larger than the other. Having two different sized breasts does not increase a person's risk of for breast cancer.
