should this be a concern?

I have small lump on the colored area of my breast.  It looks similiar to what a pimple looks like, but flatter in appearance. I have had it for about 3 weeks ... or at least that is when I first noticed it.  Should I be concerned ...?  Would a lump from cancer be visible on the outside like that?
Thanks for any help!!

Dear bree_g:  It is normal to have small lumps on the areola (colored part of the breast).  There are little glands (Montgomery's glands) as well as sebacceous glands.  Also, it is possible to develop an ingrown hair or pimple on your breast just as it is possible to develop these problems elsewhere.  Keep an eye on this.  If it becomes larger, it should be checked by a physician.  Most likely, this is normal breast anatomy.
