Can you tell me how common  it is for the symptoms of
numbness (especially in the feet) and tingling in the feet and hands....after treatment with Taxol, to continue after treatment on a prolonged or permanent basis?

Dear ursine, The side effects of numbness or tingling (peripheral neuropathy) may occur about 25-55% of the time as a side effect of Taxol.  It is a cumulative side effect - meaning with higher doses over and/or over time the side effect is more common.  After treatment is finished the effect usually diminishes over time, but in some cases it can be permanent.

Numbness and/or tingling in hands or feet

A few people receiving Taxol experience numbness or tingling in their hands and feet. This is due to the effect of Taxol on the nerves and is
known as peripheral neuropathy. It can vary from mild to severe. If it is severe then it may be necessary either to reduce the dose of the drug
or to stop it completely. This side effect normally wears off after a few months."
Go to google.com and put "taxol numbness" in the space.
Best of Luck, Binkie
