small breasts make it harder to read a mammography?

Just had a mammography and they want me back in , they say they found 2 rounded densities in upper left quadrant and want me to have a cone compression. Could me having very small breasts have something to do with this reading? Maybe it is harder to see things in a screening? Very worried.

Hi,
A spot compression mammogram is a type of mammogram in which only a small area of the breast is compressed.
The purpose of a spot compression mammogram is to focus on a particular region of the breast. The size of the breast is not the problem here, but its density that can make Mammography interpretation more difficult. The fact that you are being called back, is very common. When a density gets less visible under compression, then it's an indicator that it's less likely to be significant. On the other hand if the densities do not disappear, then an Ultrasound may follow to find out if the lumps are cysts or solid nodules.
Keep in mind that most lumps found in the breast are benign in nature and I hope that all will be just fine with your second mammogram. Please let us know how things are proceeding.
Wishing you all the best...
