stage 3

My mom is 61 yrs old and for what she had told me her cancer has spread to her nodes. What are the chances that her cancer has spread to other parts of her body? She has started chemo and after her treatment she feel very sick to her stomach and very weak and tired is this normal of chemo treatments? and if it is, is there anthing she can take other than percriptions to make her feel better? My last question is with stage 3 breast cancer what is the survial rate with and without the spread of the cancer?

The only question I can answer is that it is normal the way she feels while going through chemotherapy. Sorry, Ihughes 69,  you got no appreciation for your efforts.(comment)

I have stage 3 myself and I still don't have an exact date set for when I am going to die. You can look up your question by doing a search on the internet, but i am afraid you won't get this question answered according to your satisfaction by a doctor, because they don't know either.

Ask her to get some Zofran or Phenagren for nausea.  Zofran will keep her from being so sleepy.  The tired is typical, but have her keep on going with some walking around the house or yard.  Try vitamin B supplements (get doc approval) for tiredness.

Spreading beyonds nodes is possible, but won't be determined until something shows up on a test somewhere down the line.  Focus on the current situation...get her successfully through chemo and radiation with a good attitude and as healthy as she can be.  Get her to eat well, take vitamins (that are ok'd by oncologist) and exercise when she feels good enough to do some.

It's a diffult road to go down, but she can survive!  Be as supportive as you can, get her friends to support her, pray a lot.
