stage of cancer

I had a breast biopsy last week and I was diagnosed with inflatrating ductal carcinoma with high ductal cells.  The ultrasound said the "lump" was 2.5 - 2.7 cm.  What stage is that?

Hi.
Do you have the official histopathologic report?  After the surgery, the specimen is sent to the pathologist for evaluation.  The pathologist will provide information like the tumor size, number of lymph nodes identified and the number of lymph nodes with positive malignant cells.  These will be considered in the staging of cancer.  Other information provided includes the histologic type, histologic grade, presence of lymphovascular invasion, and margin status.
Breast cancer is staged using the TNM classification.  The size of the tumor, nodal status, and presence/absence of metastasis are all considered in the TNM staging.
Take care.
