stereotactic biopsy done

I had the stereotactic biopsy done yesterday morning...felt a bit better just getting it over with...had my 'abnormal' mammogram on previous Thursday--it showed microcalcification cluster that had not been on last year's mammo...now the WAITING is getting to me again already...what would the chances be that the cluster is from something other than DCIS or LCIS...seems to be when the microcalcifications are not in a small tight cluster they don't worry...and even though they said only one in four ususally turns out to be malignant, did not explain what other reason there could be for this...are 6 month mammograms also going to be the norm from now on?

The waiting is really difficult. But you need to stop worrying and wait for the reports to come in.
Ask for a copy of the reports.
Regular breast self exams, periodic clinical examinations by your physician and 6 monthly or annual mammograms are the usual plan of folllow up in most cases.
It would be helpful to detect any change or anything abnormal at the earliest.

My radiologist thought my califications were normal/benign and to come back in 6 mos for a recjheck...I said NO i want a biopsy. To his surprise it was DCIS
