tamoxifen and neuropathy

Can tamoxifen cause muscle aches and tingling in the extremities? I have been on tamoxifen 3 years now and have been experiencing these problems the last few months. I had chemotherapy 3 years ago and did not have any problems with neuropathy then. My doctor tells me this is a not uncommon side effect. Is there anything I can do about it? Its very annoying. Thigh muscles hurt almost all the time

Dear Molly98,  The symptoms you describe, although uncommon,  can be related to tamoxifen, and would need to be evaluated in context of your overall clinical situation.  You would want to be sure to discuss your symptoms with your doctor who can evaluate.  The website chemocare.com (www.chemocare.com) has information that may be helpful to you regarding management of side effects.  You can look at the specific side effects and find information and general suggestions about managing side effects such as muscle aches, tingling etc.
