tamoxofin side effects

Is sleep trouble and an inability to lose the chemo weight side effects?  No trouble getting to sleep only staying that way and the 15 pounds during chemo, I'v been able to ake off 5 of it and the other 10 seems impossible.  Is this related to the tamoxofin?

Dear chirstinek:  Neither sleep trouble nor weight gain are listed as specific common side effects.  However, if you have been put into perimenopause, many of these side effects are common for women who are perimenopausal or menopausal.  Fluid retention is a side effect of tamoxifen and may be contributing to some of the excess weight.

Hi,I like you was on tamoxofin 3years before I had a bi-lateral mascetomy and the weight gain was a problem for me too.But now I take Famara and I like it better, but does give you some joint pain, or this is still a side effect from chemo...which I finished a year ago....My weight has come down I,ve lost 24 pounds but now am at a stand still I need to exersice more and watch my diet-just trying to eat better--control portions--cut sugar just good eating habits..was doing good till holidays but am now getting back on track....I started doing yoga, but I can only get there once a week but it truly does make me feel better and I sleep better on those nights...Plus, after chemo I started getting anxiety  attacks so ask the doctor and she gave me Xanax which I take occasionally some nights before I go to bed...I drink lots of water now ever since chemo my body seems to crave it ...Over all I have read that it takes your body 1-2 years to get over the ordeal of surgery and treatments. I know its hard be patient try some new eating habits and even just go for a walk its good for the soul and always remember your not alone .....

I have issues with sleeping. I've been on tamoxifen for a year and a half along with effexor to aid the lovely hot flashes and wild mood swings.

Can't lose weight either, seem to be gaining in fact.

I can sympathize, but don't know any answers.
