tenderness

by polly910, Aug 07, 2008 11:26AM
I am 47 years old.  For the past 4 weeks, I have noticed that my left breast is tender and sore to touch. The tenderness is right under the breast area, and I can't even lay on my stomach anymore without it hurting.   I realize that for my height they are large.  I'm 5'1 and my breast size is 42d.

Hi Polly.
There is a possibility that you are suffering from mastitis.  This typically presents with breast tenderness and inflammation.  Other conditions that can present with breast tenderness and inflammation include acute abscess of the breast and inflammatory breast carcinoma.
I would suggest you seek consult with your doctor for further evaluation and management.
Good luck.
