thin hair with bald patch

by loulou57, Jan 08, 2009 01:29AM
I was diagnosed with breast cancer with extensive bone  mets in June 06. I recieved 6 months of Avastin,
gemsar, taxatere and arimidex orally. My ovaries were oblirerated by radiation before chemo. After that 6 months I was left on avastin and arimidex until June 08 Xeloda was added to my regime due to a small live mets which has improved but I remain on these drugs for the time being. In June I was taken off the arimidex when xeloda was added. To get to my problem-My hair is very thin in general, fine and has no body with a bald patch in the back of my head. I tried Nioxin But not much change. Your help would be appeciated- between my fat face, puffy eyes, the hair, etc I  have the "uglies". My funds are also limited due to my med expenses so if financial assistance is possible that would be great. I am 51 y.o.               Thanks,Cindy Ross

I'm not quite sure exactly what you are asking for but if it's for a wig then you should contact The Susan G. Komen Foundation as they will usually fund one wig purchase for breast cancer patients. You might also contact the Amer. Cancer Society for additional advice regarding help with the hair problem. Often after Chemo the hair loss is permanent so it would be a waste of money to try regrowth preparations.  Good Luck ....
