thoughts on bc and IBC

This is not a question  but a statement.

There are seven different types of breast cancer, did you know that? And one of them is IBC. Now, as soon as you mention a concern about having IBC on the expert forum and/or elsewhere, the first thing you will hear that IBC is a very rare bc...meaning, that it most likely does not apply to you.

But that is not true! IBC is not that rare of a bc at all. If I have it, ot cannot be that rare. if my neighbor's sister has it, it cannot ne so rare. if the ladt I sang with in the choir has it, it cannot be so rare. If the only political writer who ever really stood out for me, and I even heard her give a talk where I live, just died from it, it cannot be so rare. if my radiation nurse just told me it's not rare than it cannot be so rare.

That seems like a lot of people in a small area that have it at the same time... And so if it's rare the odds of that many people in a small community make me wonder if there is something there in the community... maybe causing it? Kat, I don't think it is so rare, but I do think it's not understood or diagnosed properly. I think if all the women who had IBC were diagnosed properly we'd see much higher numbers. A lot of doctors don't even know what it looks like!
