tracking down a syndrome

Epp
some months ago a patient asked a questionn about fainting in a hot shower and wanted to know if it had anything to do with taking hormone therapy.  another patient wrote in that before blaiming it on the aromatase inhibitors she ought to check out the website for a syndrome whose name I've forgotten.  The symptoms listed on that website answered a lot of questions i had about my own medical condition.  Now my new doctor wants to know the name of that symdrome and I can't find it anywhere.  It had to do with low blood pressure, postural light-headedness, intolerance to excercise, inability to withstand heat, problems with sweating, etc. etc.  Is there anyone out there who remembers this and can help me with the name of the syndrome?

Thanks.

There are some heart syndromes that have these symtoms. Low postural blood pressure could be vaso-vagaling. Its what happens when you lock your knees while standing for long periods and faint. Or faint after being turned in circles for a long time.  There is also Long QT Syndrome which is an inherited congenital deformity of the heart.  Triggers such as extreme tempertures, stress, exercise, and startle can cause a person with this condition to go into a potentially fatal arrythmia called Torsades de Pointes.  It is diagnosed with an EKG, and easily treated with beta blockers. You can find information about it at www.sads.org.

Dear epp:  I'm not sure what syndrome you may be referring to.  However, these are symptoms of orthostatic hypotension (postural low blood pressure) or orthostatic tachycardia (postural rapid heart rate) to name a couple of possibilities.  Another thing to consider is hypothyroidism.
