tram-flap crap

tram-flap crap

I had tram-flap reconstruction for breast cancer.  Unfortunately, I have the "type of tissue" that does not do well with the mesh.  Hence the 6th repair that I have had on the lowe mesh.  I say lower mesh, because once everything was done and healed, I was rear-ended by ... [More] a tractor-trailer and the seat belt caused an 11 cm hole in my abdominal wall, so addtional mesh was put in place.

I am miserable.  I am bloated, in pain (normall 5 out of 10) and when it's a 10 I end up in the ER.  My abdomen itches, it hurts to bear down, it hurts to sit.  The GI doctors agree that it could be adhesions causing the pain and the surgeons are all saying "the mesh is fine."

I am so overwhelmed, spend countless hours crying and trying to just be still.

Please send me someone who is willing to help me. [Less]

Hi Julie,

Unfortunately this kind of thing is one of several constant problems with TRAM flaps. I've sent you a private message that I hope will help.

Best wishes.
