tram flap reconstruction

tram flap reconstruction

I had a masectomy in January 2010. On September 13,2010 I had breast reconstruction surgery. The doctor did a tram flap surgery. Well the surgery was not successful and the new breast had to be removed the next day. My incision on my stomach has just healed as of today. (hopefully). My incision on my stomach has opened up twice and I have had to take antibiotics both times. My stomach always hurts  from underneath my breast to my pelviv bone and I have a buldge on my right side, It feels like a ball in my stomach. I usually have to wear the abdominal binder I was given after surgery. My nurse told me that I need to stop wearing the binder not to use it as a crutch. But thats the only thing that helps the pain.
I have not been able to wear jeans. They make my stomach ache really bad. I am going back to work in about 2 weeks and I work with the public. Any suggestions on what I can do for this stomach pain and what I can wear instead of the abdominal binder. Also will the pain in my arm and armpit ever go away? Oh and I also have lymphedema on my right arm. Any suggestion on how to deal with this. Thank you for reading this and I appreciate any information. I truly regreat having the masectomy. I know the alternatives but this pass year has been the worst ever. Also does anyone take the cancer pill FEMARA. Any info on that would also be appreciated. Thanks again.

I can't really address the stomach pain ... I would think that your Plastic Surgeon might have some solution for this problem. The Lymphedema needs to be treated and should have been long before this; the earlier the better. You need to see a Physical Therapist who is specially trained in the treatment of LE; you can be taught a massage program and also be prescribed a compression sleeve to help control the swelling and pain. There are also physical things that you should NOT be doing as some things do aggravate LE. If you ck. out the website  you will find all the information available for all the cancer drugs. IF your Plastic Surgeon has nothing to offer in the way of help you might consider seeing someone at a Pain Clinic.     Regards .....
