I was dx with breast cancer stage two grade 3 was on taxotere and cytoxan but second cycle a reaction to taxotere  so dropped taxotere went to AC doing well after two cycles.  But now they want me to have taxol after I finsh Ac on Nov 17  Taxol will be every two weeks and Im concerned because taxotere and taxol are in the same family and Im worried about reactions

The two drugs are in the same family, but I've read that there is not necessarily a cross-sensitivity (ie, if you are allergic to one it does not automatically mean you will have the same reaction to the other).

Also, premedication can be given to reduce the likelihood of a reaction, and your onco can also provide meds. to take in the event you should have a reaction, as well as instructions regarding how to judge if any reaction you might have is serious enough to go to the ER.
