CONGATULATIONS!!!! That's great news; just what we like to hear. Thanks for the update and take care ...
NO CANCER!! Benign breast tissue with fibroadenoma
Of course .... all the best wishes possible; we'll be waiting to hear at your convenience. Take care ...
The doctor has the results. Go in on Thursday at 5 pm. Wish me luck
Thank you for all of the info.. i will definitely post what they find.
OK, you did forget to mention that you already had the biopsies ...LOL. As a rule it takes 4 to 7 days to get the report on a biopsy, depending on the Institution where it was done ... having it done on Friday may add a day or two to that wait time though.
The chips that are left in place are Titanium and do not interfere with future testing of any type. You won't set off the alarm at the Airport either :) These are left in place so that the area will be marked as previously biopsied/checked and not be confused with a new issue in the future. Waiting is always the worst; just ask anyone who has been through this. Please let us know when you receive your results. Take care ...
I keep forgetting things. They left "markers" in where they did the biopsies.. are these made of metal..i forgot to ask and if they typically are will that mean that i would not be able to have mri's in the future if needed?
Thank you japdip.. i had a core biopsy done just this past friday and just got a copy of the ultrasound report saturday. I like to be prepared for any possibility and of course i am nervous . Cancer runs in my family but no breast cancer at least not on my mother's side , i dont know about my father's side. Everything seems to be moving pretty fast.. had mammogram done tuesday the 11 then the ultrasound done two days after that then talked to a nurse on Tuesday the 18 and had my biopsy on friday now it is a hurry up and wait. Definitly hard to wait on the results.
A Birads score of 4 does indicate that a biopsy is required to arrive at a diagnosis. Whether this will be done by the Radiologist or a Surgeon will depend on the type of biopsy but I would think that you will be referred to a Surgeon by your prescribing Physician.
Any opinion as far as this being cancer or not would be a guess at this point. With what you have stated here which is from the Radiologists report indicates that there are several issues. Solid masses may well be Fibroadenomas and they are benign breast tumors. Isoechoic means that the tissue is similar to the surrounding breast tissue by Ultrasound. With all the findings that have been reported I would think that some type of biopsy might be the next step. I feel sure there would have been some type of recommendation at the end of the Radiologists report as to what the next step should be and I advise you to proceed with whatever was suggested ASAP. A biopsy is the ONLY way to determine if a finding is Cancer or not. Regards ..
Also was given a Birads 4
