ultrasound and mammogram ok, but still worried

I had a mammogram and ultrasound in August after feeling like maybe I had a lump during a self breast exam.  The mammogram and ultrasound came back that my left breast is asymmetrical, but that it looked ok compared to a baseline mammogram from 3 years ago (37).  They advised a clinical breast exam in 6 months.  However, I still feel like my breast has pain at times when my daughters lean against it or I reach and stretch high for something.  Sometimes, it has a heavy feeling also.  I have never been aware of how my breasts feel, but am very conscious of my left breast now and concerned.  Should I be asking for an MRI or talking to my gynecologist again?  Is it possible to have a problem that can be missed by the combination of mammogram and ultrasound?  Today, I also noticed what could be a slight rash, but don't know if I am just nervous at this point.  Any advice is much appreciated.

Sometimes mammograms or U/S can miss lumps especially if the breasts are dense. An MRI is an excellent tool to find abnormalities in dense breast, even though it could also give a false positive.Since you started to have a slight rash it's advisable to talk again with your physician to do more investigating about the discomfort and concern you have .Although cancer is rarely associated with pain I would,if I were you, seek more information and even have a second opinion by a Breast Specialist about your case. It is normal for women to have slightly asymmetrical breasts, but it can also be a sign of abnormal growth. If you are really concerned  regarding your left breast, you don't have to wait 6 months and worry needlessly about it.Take care...

First of all I would be seeing a Breast Specialist about my breast concerns ..... both for a clinical breast exam and any additional testing that he/she may deem appropriate. I see no reason for an MRI until you have consulted someone who specializes in breast issues.  Breast pain can occur for many reasons .... the least of all being breast cancer.   Regards ...
